A Cold Day

Our day began with temperatures in the 20's, so this is what you do for lunch when you still haven't turned your heat on, and heating with only the fire place.  You bring the card table and chairs in front of the fire and eat!  So much fun!  So many little adventures to be thankful for!  What a joyous day!  Even the cat likes being by the fire...

Sarah made spaghetti and meat sauce for lunch and, boy, was it good!  All warm and cozy and food, what could be better?!

What do you do to stay warm?  Blankets? Yes! Fires? Yes! Extra layers? Yes! Fuzzy Socks? Yes! That too!

It warmed up to the 40's so we didn't stay here all day, just in between daily happenings.

Grateful for Rain

These clouds were a welcome sight as we have been in need of rain.

Our pasture fields and yards are brown and our gardens must be watered to keep our produce growing.

Then, we saw this welcome sight.  We are praying for more rain.

Rain down on us.

We are grateful

"For ground that drinks the rain which often falls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God."

Hebrews 6:7

What a blessing.

Lord, not only rain down your physical rain, but help me to feel, to know, to hold onto Your Spirit.  When I accepted You as my Lord and Savior, You sent Your Holy Spirit to live within, to lead, to guide, to convict me, to convict us.  I know I have all I need.  You do not give some more and some less; it is up to us as we yield every single decision we make to Your will.  


We often pray for You to send Your Spirit down, but if we are born again, saved by the Blood of the Lamb, Your Spirit, wholly and entirely is within us.  You can't give more than All.  Help us to realize how to call upon Your Spirit, to use what You have given, already and fully, knowing we must draw close to You because You never leave us nor forsake us.  For that we are Ever Grateful.


Thank You for the rain, Thank You and Thank You.

First Veggies!

Beautiful tomatoes growing!

First veggies out of the garden!  We made a squash casserole for our homecoming picnic at our church.  Delish!!!  Just beautiful!

We are ever grateful for Your provisions Lord,
                                everything we need, when we need.

More Hay Photos?

What?  More hay photos?

Since all the posts about the hayfield, Dad and Mom have now mowed around 75 more acres.  Dad did get one field baled before the rain came, but now the girls and Jamin are going to have to tett the hay before it is raked and baled.  (Side note about the spelling and usage of tett or teddering the hay-I tried to use the correct way for those who do not know but we always say "tett" or "tetting" hay, so if you see it both ways forgive, it is our country way-the proper way is tedder or teddering the hay-I think *grin*). 

I really liked how the light came through the door in the loft of the barn, hence more hay pics.

Ever Thankful

Ever so grateful!!!  Over at Dayspring they sell the "Ever Grateful" dishes.  They are beautiful, and a reminder to be thankful for simple blessings.  Some day I may have an entire set, for now, they are used as special reminders and service.  Sarah's freshly ground wheat chocolate chip cookies look simply amazing on the plate!  They taste even more ummm ummm delicious!

"I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart;
