Hay - 2014

It's hay season again!  Dad had already put up a field across from our house, and he and I mowed the field in front of his house, then the girls had all been tedding and raking for him.  This 1st pic we were having to wait while Dad went to help Julia with the rake in another field, sooooo, to pass the time we visit and read the newpaper!  How funny!

Fast forward to now, we are all finished with the 1st cutting of all the hay on the farm, and with this wonderful rain we have had recently, we should get another good  2nd cutting at some point.

Our cousin C wanted to come and help haul hay, so here are some pics of him working in the Big Field with us.

If you do not know how we put up hay, square bales or round bales, go here to part 1 of hay season and check it out.

Great job all!  It's much more fun working together!  Training younger men and ladies will prepare them for the many years ahead.  That's what generational faithfulness is about, though only one part of it.  Great job Cousin C!!!

Family Study

We love the time together to read and study God's Word.

It consists mainly of reading through the Bible, but we have discussed books, studies, and over time our discussions keep getting better and better.

We have learned much through studying and reading and tasting God's Word; sometimes it is bittersweet, other times it is sweet as honey on our lips, and all along we are learning more of how to live, what it means to be a woman or a man of God, our responsibilities according to His Word, and what He is saying to us, to our family, our churches, and our country.

At times we may be sad because we see how we have fallen so far away from God's original intent for our lives here on this earth.

Yet, we are willing to hear His words, willing to sit, to study, to encourage one another, and yes, hear what God is saying to us.

Here is a time of study in the great outdoors, with a bit of goofiness thrown in, aka Jenny, a wave to people driving by, and a song or 2.  Such good times in His word :).

Take joy each moment you have with one another and God's word, and make time for it; it will be one of the most important investments you will ever make.

Father and Son

We attended a trash and treasure sale where Jamin found a large mailbox for $4.  Since the one we had was beaten and battered (literally), we thought it was a good deal.  The new one was black, but rusty, so Jamin sanded and repainted it.  It looked brand new.
Here are Steve and Jamin replacing the mailbox with our "new" one.
We will see how long it takes teens to come back around and beat mailboxes again. :(
Isn't it wonderful when fathers and sons work together, teaching, training, and learning.  Such an awesome testimony of generational faithfulness.

Now, we need to replace our moss covered paper box. =)  The girls actually like the moss covering; it gives it a natural, woodsy look.  That, it does.

We're Baaaaaackkkk!!!!

Here are a few pics of the garden while my sis and her family were in during the summer. I didn't want to leave you with our bare garden from the beginning. Of course, it is quite bare again because of no rain, so here's just a bit of what we did.
