Worry?

"Do not worry..."

"And why are you worried about clothing?
Observe how the lilies of the field grow;
they do not toil nor do they spin,

"yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory
clothed himself like one of these."

"But if God so clothes the grass of the field,
which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace,
will He not much more clothe you?
You of little faith!"

"For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things;
for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things."

"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you."

So do not worry about tomorrow;
for tomorrow will care for itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own."
Matthew 6:28-34

"Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain,
But a woman who fears the Lord,
she shall be praised."
Proverbs 31:30

Do you struggle with worry, having the right style of clothes, not getting every new gadget that comes out, making sure all the furniture in your house matches, wanting all the right landscaping so it "enhances" your home, check out the latest magazines, catalogs, and sale papers that come in the mail or in the check-out lines, trying to look a certain way whether it is hair, makeup, your body, abs, calves, arms, or a host of other vain ambitions?
Well, I Do!!!
I Do!!!
"Oh, if I could only see, really see, the lilies of the field and know God has my best in His plan, and I don't have or need to worry, by staying up late at night thinking, or seeing "perfect," (in our cultures eyes) beautiful ladies, (who probably has had surgeries, procedures, touch ups and devotes all their time to vain ambitions), wishing I could be them.

Why not be content with who my God created me to be and how He loves me and only wants the absolute best for me.  Do I need to do more to be healthier?  Yes, so why struggle too much with things that really do not matter in the overall scheme of His plan.

Our culture does everything it can to distract us from Who really matters, from the One who provides, Jehovah Jireh, and we fall into its trap, oh, so easily.  When we study God's Word we find our culture we are living in is at the opposite spectrum of what and how we are to live.  Are we to be wierd and live as castoffs?  No, but we are to be a peculiar people, so others may ask what it is you do differently; why do you live, look, or dress the way you do, and we can say with all authority that Jesus Christ lives in us and our desire is to reflect Him in ALL we do and say.

Sounds easy enough, but oh, Jesus, how many times I have failed You and fall into the trap of living like everyone else.  We are imitators, just look in the magazines, or newpapers and see how pictures of groups of girls will all have the same hairstyle.  We should strive to "be imitators of God, as beloved children, and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  Eph. 5:1-2

My Jesus, the Lord and Savior of my life, the King who reigns supreme, Jehovah Jireh, my Provider,  please give me the strength I need to live close to You, as I listen to Your Word and Your Holy Spirit and You guide my EVERY step.

I love You, Lord
And I lift my voice
to worship You
O my soul, rejoice

Take joy my King
in what You hear
may it be a sweet, sweet sound
in Your ear.

Etsy

The girls, my three maidens,
have finally opened up an Etsy Shop!

They only have a few items at present, but have more to put on very soon!
You can check it out here, and to see more of what they do, go here!

The girls have many talents, and our prayer for them is to use what God has given them to glorify their heavenly Father, and to help fulfill their fathers' vision, as they are preparing to be a help meet if God so desires.

As they sell their products, whether knitting, painting, or photos, it helps them fulfill God's role of them being a Biblical woman.

Christmas is around the corner, so help support them in their efforts and order early so they have plenty of time to get everything made.

Our desire is for our ladies to "work with her hands in delight," verse 13 of Proverbs 31.

"Strength and dignity are her clothing,
And she smiles at the future."
Prov. 31:25

"Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain,
But a woman who fears the Lord,
she shall be praised."
Prov. 31:30

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SARAH!

Sarah's 20th Birthday

We had a birthday meal of her choosing, grilled chicken fettucine alfredo, with her amazing homemade alfredo sauce.  Yes, she did some work on her special day. *grin*

 She requested a carrot cake, and it was a from-scratch recipe from our church cookbook.  Mmmmm  Mmmmm delicious!

The special lady.

Sorry, its blurry, but it was the only pic of her blowing out her candle.

Special gifts for a special lady.

Her favorite flower is a poppy, so Julia painted her a trio of pictures.  Absolutely gorgeous!  They will go above her bed, she has said.

Sarah's fav ice cream is mint chocolate chip, and we love the build-a-bears, so when I saw BAB had a MCC bear, I could not resist.  She LOVED it!

 She also likes Captain America, so the BAB Captain America suit also found its way to her.  Too cute on her overstuffed panda, Brock.  He filled the suit out quite well.

Sarah was having a photo shoot of her siblings, and we took some pictures of her as well.
She has grown into a lovely, beautiful, Godly, respectful, serving her family well, young lady.
Her father and I are so very proud, yes, PROUD, in a good way, of our oldest daughter.

Happy Birthday to a very special young lady.  We pray God surrounds you with His love, guidance, and protection, and that you would continue to be the pillars that uphold and support those around you.

"Let our sons in their youth be as grown-up plants,
And our daughters as corner pillars fashioned as for a palace;
How blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!
Psalm 144:12, 15b
Send Sarah a Happy Birthday wish here, or go here to the girls' blog and leave a wish.

My Strength

"I love You, O Lord, my strength."
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised."
Psalm 18:1-3a

"Make me know Your ways, O Lord;
Teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
For You I wait all the day.
Psalm 25:4-5

Be encouraged today friend.  We trust in the One who is able to lead us through all our daily battles.  He is with you and will carry you through.  Lean on Him and trust His Name, the name of Jesus.

Let me know how you find your strength to carry on and what Scriptures He speaks to you where you find comfort.

Grateful for Rain

These clouds were a welcome sight as we have been in need of rain.
Our pasture fields and yards are brown and our gardens must be watered to keep our produce growing.

Then, we saw this welcome sight.  We are praying for more rain.

Rain down on us.

We are grateful
"For ground that drinks the rain which often falls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God."
Hebrews 6:7

Lord, not only rain down your physical rain, but help me to feel, to know, to hold onto Your Spirit.  When I accepted You as my Lord and Savior, You sent Your Holy Spirit to live within, to lead, to guide, to convict me, to convict us.  I know I have all I need.  You do not give some more and some less; it is up to us as we yield every single decision we make to Your will.

We often pray for You to send Your Spirit down, but if we are born again, saved by the Blood of the Lamb, Your Spirit, wholly and entirely is within us.  You can't give more than All.  Help us to realize how to call upon Your Spirit, to use what You have given, already and fully, knowing we must draw close to You because You never leave us nor forsake us.  For that we are Ever Grateful.

Thank You for the rain, Thank You and Thank You.

Freedom

Freedom is not free

"It was for freedom that Christ set us free."
Galatians 5:1a

Jesus died first so we would be set free from our sins.

Many men have died so we may worship freely, in our homes, in our churches, and wherever we so choose.

Thank You, Jesus,  for Your willingness and love to be obedient to the Father, God.

Thank you, servicemen, for your loyalty and honor and obedience.

We must remember, remember, remember, and never forget!!!

Always Experiencing Him,
Jody
