The Storms of Life

When the storms come, when the wind blows,
 and the rain pours,
 He is still God.

When the waves of this world come from every direction,
He is still God.

When what we see doesn't look as it should,
He is still God.

When life is uncertain, and division arises,
and friends leave,
He is still God.

God is still on the throne.
God is still the same.
He does not change.

He will not change.
He can not change,
for He is God.

The same yesterday, today, and forever.

The One Who Is, Who Was, and Who Is To Come.
(Jody Dake)

"These things I have spoken to you,
so that in Me you may have peace.
In the world you have tribulation,
but take courage;
I have overcome the world."
John 16:33

More Rains!

We awoke to some flash flooding this morning.  Here are our creeks at well above normal levels.  Some of the time, most summers, it has even dried up, but not the past couple years.  We love, love, love, big, wide creeks, so we enjoy seeing all the water coming through, if only for a little while.  Though a few years ago the big floods washed our driveway out at the tile and we had to replace it.  Couldn't get in or out, except, we did put 2x4s across and got our van across so we could go somewhere IF we had too.  Yeah, probably wasn't a good idea, but our men are safe, and do things slowly, and carefully, so it worked.  Whew!

Anyway, wanted you to enjoy a few pics of lots of rain in case you didn't have this today.

It was a good day to sleep in, with the thunder and lightning early this morn; a beautiful way to wake up.  God likes to keep us on our toes by not giving too many monotonous days.  It would be pretty boring with the same exact weather every single day.

Thank You Father, for the diversity You give.

Have a wonderful blessed day in the Lord.

"This is the day which the Lord has made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it."
Psalm 118:24

Summer Storms

We have had several summer storms recently, and they have been beautiful and wonderful.  God is amazing as He gives us so much diversity in the weather.

The girls ran to get clothes off the line when I yelled, "It's raining!  The clothes!"  Too funny!  So, I had to run to get the camera and snap a couple quick shots!  Loved it!

The clouds have been gorgeous, the dark gray ones, the white puffy ones in between storms, and all others in the lovely sky above us.  One evening, very late, Steve and I sat out on the front porch to watch the lightning storm happening right over us.  I know, probably not the safest thing, but I absolutely LOVE storms, the lightning, the amazing thunder that rolls, and as it did that evening, a continuous roar, oh, wow, so amazing!  I ended up lying on the porch, looking up at the streaks and flashes of lightning going on above in the heavens.  I do have to admit, I was saying a little prayer, "Please, Lord, protect me as I'm watching your glory happening right now."

Isn't God good?  We even had a neighbor racing home who got caught in the storm after bushogging.  The winds, watching the rain from a distance as it gets nearer, and nearer, and nearer til we finally scream, "It's here!  Ooosh!"  Love it!  It's then I am reminded God is bigger, God is good, and I only need to sit, be still, and know, yes, just know He is God.

I pray on this Lord's day, you will take time to do just that.  Be still, if only for a moment, but be still, and know He.Is.God.

This was suppose to be posted earlier today, but I had trouble loading my videos, so please take the time Monday to be still, any day, just Be.Still.And.Know...

Always Experiencing Him,
Jody

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Hello my dear friends and readers!

I am NOT a computer techie person, and am struggling with changes I am making at the present time.  My dear daughter, Sarah, is trying to help me.

The way I understand it, Google Reader is going away in July and if you are following blogs through your Google account, come July, those blogs will disappear -- unless you have a Bloglovin account, which allows you to follow through their site.

If you still wish to follow me, and I would LOVE for you to, then click the above follow link, at the top, and...that's it.  I hope!

I didn't want to leave you with a boring post, so here are a few pics after the storm...love to see the lightning and hear the thunders roll, and the rain as it pounds on the windows and porches, but the beauty displayed after is unfathomable at times.

Enjoy God's beauty in the skies.

"He spread a cloud for a covering..."
Psalm 105:39a

"Then a cloud formed, overshadowing them,
and a voice came out of the cloud,
This is My beloved Son,
 listen to Him!"
Mark 9:7

"And after He had said these things,
He was lifted up while they were looking on,
and a cloud received Him out of their sight."
Acts 1:9

If you have any other input or help for this dear non-techie, please leave me a comment.  I will welcome any and all help.  I'm still trying to figure out how to put a "pin it" button on the posts so they can be pinned.

Thanks for all your patience as this world continues to change, requiring some extra learning on my part.

Don't forget, I LOVE, love, love comments, and help, in sending my blog to others, who would benefit from what God has given me to say, and our daily farm life.

Looking forward to hearing from you!!!

The Calm After the Storm

We had a pretty rough storm come through, with winds around 40 mph. These pics are just after the winds and rain. We stayed on the porch watching till we began to get wet and blown away. We LOVE watching the storms as they arrive. It's just one more way to see God's amazing works. The giant cloud looks like God is pulling back a curtain revealing a beautiful blue sky just after the storm. Isn't that like God, maybe taking us through a storm, but it doesn't last. He eventually reveals something amazing at the end. And usually it is beautiful!
